Power cable repair

The cable repair workshop employs 8 workers and repairs up to 1500 meters of flexible mining cables monthly. Average cost of repair amounts to c. 20% of the cost of a new cable. To satisfy our customers the repair process consists of many complicated operations and requires exceptional dedication and care. Numerous reference letters received from coal mines confirm the quality of our service. During 18 years of operation we have implemented technological improvements enabling us to fully reconstruct cable structure using butt-welding or conductor stranding techniques. These methods allow to keep the cable diameter as well as its flexibility and breaking strength at acceptable level. Defect location and final tests are important stages of repair process. IZOTEST tester is used to detect damages to the outer sheath, EASYFLEX instrument to diagnose the state of insulation of cable conductors as well as a range of other fault location instruments, including Hagenuk surge generator and 40 kV DC PHENIX cable tester.
